About Our Males

Our German Shepherd Males at Rosehall Shepherds

Our GSD stud dogs are old-style, straight-back shepherds from East German and American lines. We carefully breed or select our German shepherd puppy fathers for temperament and health. Our dogs are from old-style / old-fashioned lines. We breed family-friendly dogs you and your family can have fun with. Most of our dogs have a low to medium-low drive, which makes them excellent family dogs or assistance dogs.

What Are the Characteristics of Old-Style German Shepherd Dogs?

Our quality German shepherds have straight backs and walk on their feet instead of their hocks. They have balanced proportions and a sturdy build that helps them do the job you need, whether it is a family dog, assistance dog, sporting dog or working dog.

Our German shepherd puppy dads and moms pass their intelligence, loyalty and calm demeanor onto their puppies. We Embark test all of our dogs. The test looks at up to 300 genetic factors, including DM and the MDR1 gene.

The Importance of Straight-Back Breeding

We breed quality German shepherds for enhanced mobility and endurance so you can use them for work and service roles—or just enjoy a family pet that can keep up with active families. Our GSDs preserve the heritage of the original German shepherd, created by Max von Stephanitz’s original version of the breed.

Additionally, our selective breeding practices improve the overall health of our lines.

Choosing a German Shepherd Dog Breeder

The importance of working with a responsible breeder cannot be overstated. A responsible breeder works with puppy buyers to find the perfect fit for a family and, if an individual wants a working dog, to find the best dog for the job.
